The
Slaughterhouse Area, Stroom hcbk, The Hague, 1994
The publication is a research on public space and the possible
role of art in it. The Slaughterhouse Area in The Hague was
converted into a housing area (masterplan Aldo Rossi), question
was how to incorporate Art there. Fortuyn/O’Brien and
Arno Vriends started by researching the public space and from
there some proposals were made. This book, and the accompaniing
exhibition, show the research and the proposals.
